The disclaimer: I get lots of requests for help with the following problems, so I am posting them here.  Use at your own risk.  I do not guarantee that it will work for your problems.  I am not responsible if things get worse!

So, that said, I will tell you that I have used these tools to fix some pretty messed up PC's. If you can't download these to your PC because you can't get or stay on the Internet, have a friend burn a CD for you with the programs on it .  Or, you can buy similar programs from your local stores.  You would be looking for Spyware removers, Pop-up Stoppers, and Anti-Virus programs.  The stuff below is all Freeware, but be sure you read any terms of use, as some restrictions may apply.  Good Luck...

Problem: Your PC freezes up whenever you try to get on the Internet and all kinds of strange stuff shows up on your screen.

The problem may be Spyware.  Try downloading these freeware programs to get rid of the Spyware.  Follow the links below:

Spybot - Search & Destroy

Spybot - Search & Destroy New version still in Beta

Ad-Aware

Load one or both of these programs to get rid of spyware that is messing up your PC.

I haven't used the following yet, but it is supposed to block the spyware before it sneaks onto your computer.

SpywareBlaster

Problem: Your are getting so many pop-ups, you can't really surf the net.

Download this freeware to stop the pop-ups.

Panicware Pop Up Stopper

Problem: You think you may have a virus even though you have anti-virus software on your PC.

If you have anti-virus software make sure you have downloaded the latest virus definition updates.  You have to keep these updated, so if you don't know how read your software's instructions.

If you don't think your anti-virus program is working, then you can try a few other things.  Trend Micro has a program called HouseCall that scans your PC from the Internet. Click on the link below.

HouseCall

You can also get a free anti-virus program called AVG which has positive reviews.

AVG Anti-Virus Software

Good Luck!
